According to the Moldovan political scientist Alexey Tulbure, Lupu’s and Filat’s parties will search for ways out of the current situation in which they have involved themselves, having taken the incorrect decision on the organization of referendum to adopt the new Constitution instead of holding early parliamentary elections.

«I think that both the Democratic Party and the Liberal Democratic Party will search for ways out of the created situation. These two the largest, in my opinion, political forces today in power, should search for solution out of the created situation», declared Tulbure to OMEGA agency, having called the decision made by the ruling coalition «the last desperate attempt» to avoid the development of early parliamentary elections.

«But, it is not quite a successful attempt. I think that they will search for ways to act back the situation. I consider that it was a political error», declared the political scientist, having concluded that as a result of this error, «there are political scars on the alliance’s body».

The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration declared on Tuesday, 9 March, the adopted decision to do not conduct early parliamentary elections as it is provided by the Constitution. Mihai Ghimpu, Marian Lupu, Serafim Urechean and Vladimir Filat declared that instead of the organization of early elections as it is provided by the Constitution, a referendum on amendments to the Constitution of Moldova, scheduled on 16 June, would be organized.

Earlier, the President of the European Commission for Democracy trough Law of the Council of Europe (Venice Commission), Gianni Buquicchio declared during his visit to Chişinău that to overcome the crisis should be a priority for Moldova rather than the amendments to the Constitution. The President of the Venice Commission specified that “he insists on the need to observe the laws and the current Constitution“. “Every reform should be done by observing the effective norms and laws“, emphasized the European official.
